Low & High Voltage Coil Manufacturing Technician

A dedicated and motivated Copper Coil Manufacturing Operative is needed to join a growing team. The operative will be crucial in producing high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) copper coils to specific standards.

About the Role:

As a Low & High Voltage Coil Manufacturing Technician, a person will be an integral part of the production process, contributing to the manufacture of copper coils that meet precise specifications. Dedication to quality and efficiency is key to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain machinery to produce high-quality coils.
  • Follow established procedures and safety protocols (OSHA compliant).
  • Meet or exceed shift and weekly production targets.
  • Inspect products and identify any technical issues or deviations from quality standards.
  • Record production data and times accurately.
  • Actively participate in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Strive to satisfy internal and external customer expectations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace (6S & Lean activities).

AC Coil Technician – Wire Glassing

We are dedicated to manufacturing and rebuilding of component products for rotating electrical machines up to 13.8 kV.  Our core business is form coil manufacturing and associated services for AC and DC electric motors and generators.

Position: AC Coil Technician – Wire Glassing

Education: High School diploma or GED Equivalent. Formal vocational and/or technical training preferred.

Job requirements:

Physical: Ability to stand, lift and carry weighted objects (up to 40 lbs.), twist, bend, kneel and sit for long periods (up to 16 hours); speak, hear, close vision, ability to discern detail, ability to accurately communicate thoughts and concepts with management and subordinates verbally and in writing.

Mental: Mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge and aptitude, ability to apply technical concepts to specific problems efficiently and effectively, drawing conclusions about processes and products that are applicable to specific production goals; ability to reason abstractly.

Working conditions: Shop environment.  Requires lengthy periods of standing.   Shop environment may be noisy, require heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs.) And warm (up to 120 f during summer periods).

General Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions from Leadman
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic measuring instruments (ruler, micrometer, caliper, etc.)
  • General knowledge of all steps in the coil manufacturing process
  • General understanding of all equipment used in the coil manufacturing process
  • Working knowledge and understanding of company computer systems

Essential Functions:

  • Use micrometer
  • Machine operation
  • Soldering
  • Cleaning wire glassing machine
  • Troubleshooting
  • Record keeping

Hours: Shift work. Often works 10-12 hours per day. Some weekends required.
